Sophie's First Semester

Development of Drawing and Shading In Photoshop

Construction Exercise

In this exercise we were give the task to show the 3D aspects of these objects by drawing construction lines first on some simple shapes then on some more complex shapes. I really struggled with this task as I am not very good at drawing what i can't see.

Here we were given the task to use basic shapes to construct natural figures. I then decided to give shape and depth to the figure by adding some directional lines.

Rendering Exercise

In this exercise we were tasked to shade a ball and some 3D shapes so that they appear to be placed in a 3Dimentional space.

Robot Designs

I really struggled with choosing a design for my rendered robot so I spent a long time messing around with shapes. Eventually a came up with a really funny looking design and decided to line it out and shade it.

Perspective Drawing

Learning Perspective

I found 1 point perspective a lot easier to grasp the basics. After some practice I managed to produce some 2 point perspective images as well.

One Point

For the one point perspective drawings I went out to take some reference photos around Leicester as there are some interesting buildings and alleys dotted around the place.

After taking some reference photos I chose my favorite and started to draw it. I don't think it turned out very well so i then started moving onto more fantasy designs. In the end i decided to go for a western Design.

Two Point

For the two point perspective drawings I decided to go down the fantasy route straight away with some medieval designs some large mushrooms.
